    H and I are for...

    September 20, 2015

    H is for Home

In my upcoming novel, Order of Fear, the hero, Dr. Justin Tanner, lives in a house with his sister, Wendy and her daughter, Samantha. Upon return from his last and most devastating deployment, Justin spotted the house. The spacious suburban Virginia house resembled his favorite house from his childhood. As an Army brat Justin lived all over the world but he particularly loved the Tanner’s house in Georgia.  When Justin happened upon the house he purchased the property on the spot. His parents died tragically in a plane crash so this house was extremely nostalgic for him.

The muse for Justin’s house is from the movie, Life As We Know It, with Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl. The amazing colonial charm of this house exudes family and tradition. The beautiful house is a nod to Justin’s upbringing and the perfect tribute to his parents. Take a look...

    I is for Inspiration

The single thing all women need in the world is inspiration, and inspiration comes from storytelling.

    - Zainab Salbi

Order of Fear started off as a morsel of a thought. A what if question, or questions. What if a woman comes home to find her fiancé dead? What if she discovers he’d hidden secrets from her? What if she eventually falls in love with his best friend? What if there was a villain so ruthless murder was considered fun?

    Hmm, what if?

So, I began writing Order of Fear as my NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writer’s Month) project. NaNoWriMo is a month long quest to write 50,000 words during the month of November. With a good start the story has taken many twists and turns. I’m presently working on another round of edits. I’m thrilled to have taken a few questions and turned those answers into a full blown story, which will be making it’s debut in early 2016.
