As I was pondering what to write about, a fun idea came to me. If I could spend the day or talk with a few select celebrities, authors and interesting people. This list is not inclusive of everyone I admire or find interesting but includes a few people that come to mind.
Brad Meltzer, author: I’ve admired Brad’s work since I read one of his first books, The
Tenth Justice. One of the aspects of Brad’s writing I love is his detailed, use of sometimes obscure and little known facts in history. I’d ask him what research techniques he employs and how is decides what to use in his stories.
Dwayne Johnson, actor: Okay he’s an awe-inspiring hunk of a man to look at and appears to be a nice guy to boot. As an avid gym goer, I’d love to work out with him. However, I’m not naïve enough to believe I could actually last a full workout with him, but I’d like to try!
The Spice Girls, singers: I know what you’re thinking—that’s random. I happen think the Spice Girls are a fun girl group with catchy music and unique costumes. My thought is to meet them all in London, try on typical Spice Girl clothes (I’d test a sample from each girl’s style), and go for a boat ride on the River Thames. Sounds like a fun day to me!
The wives of the first American men in space: There have been books and a television show about this unique sorority of women. I’d love to spend an afternoon hearing from these women about what it was like for them to not only watch their husbands blast off into space but also how their lives and families were affected.
Frederick Douglass, abolitionist, statesmen, writer: There are many things of interest regarding Frederick Douglass, some of which are his early days as a slave, his successful escape from slavery, and the penning of his autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave. One aspect of his life I’d love to know more about, is his somewhat complicated friendship with Abraham Lincoln. If I could time travel I’d go back, have a seat on the sofa, and listen to these two icons discuss the state of American affairs during the Civil War times.
Each of these people, I believe, would provide unique, interesting, and eye opening experiences. This list could go on so perhaps I'll post another list! What would be your list of interesting people?
