Tying the KNOT
Marissa had planned to tie the knot with her fiancé, David Seybold. No spoiler alerts, however, Marissa and David don’t make it down the aisle. But what would their wedding have looked like?
Marissa’s colors were peach, aqua and gray.
The bridesmaids were: David’s sister, her sister, Vanessa, and her best friend, Kelly. They would have worn aqua colored Grecian style floor length gowns with matching peep toed, high heeled pumps. They would have carried bouquets of white and peach lilacs, roses and hydrangeas.
The groomsmen were: Justin Tanner, David’s brother and Marissa’s brother in law, Eli. In keeping with the color scheme, David and the groomsmen would have worn gray tuxedos with aqua pocket squares and ties.
Marissa’s wedding gown melded old world style with modern flair. With a sweetheart lace bodice flowing to a drop waist ball gown tulle skirt, Marissa planned to wear her brown hair in a soft tumble of curls. She would have carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, peach and pink roses and pale orchids.
They would have married in Marissa’s family church before two hundred guests. Marissa wasn’t sure she wanted such a big wedding but she found it difficult to disappoint her mother’s starry-eyed wedding wishes.
The reception was scheduled to take place at a country club. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were to be served on a stone veranda overlooking a waterfall. Guests would have been ushered inside for dinner and seated at round tables with aqua table clothes and gray table runners. The centerpieces included large lanterns with gray candles surrounded by peach colored flowers. Huge peach and gray drapes would have cascaded across the ceiling and down to the floor. A square wood dance floor was set to occupy the front half of the room.
The wedding would have been impeccable in every way, the bride and groom picture perfect. However, weeks before the wedding Marissa made the painful decision that she needed to call off the wedding. But before she could do so, tragedy struck throwing Marissa into a whirlpool of deceit, murder, and unspeakable terror.
Soft peach hued roses. Elegant gray candles. Delicate swirls of ruffled silver icing on a too-pretty-to-eat wedding cake. A snowy white wedding dress.
Now her world was blood-red.
